In excess of ninety Churt Villagers of all ages attended our moving
Churt today. Wreaths at the war memorial where laid in remembrance of those fallen service men from the 1914 to 1918 and 1939 to 1945 World wars; the wreaths were laid by ‘ST. Johns Church ‘, ‘Churt Scouts’, ‘ST. Johns CofE Infant School’ and the Churt ‘WI’. Various wooden poppy crosses where placed by Villagers. It was an honour for me to place a wreath on behalf of ‘Churt Parish Council’. Many thanks to the ‘WI’ ladies for tea and biscuits in the church hall after the ceremony.
Kohima Epitaph: When you go home, tell them of us and say ‘For your tomorrow we gave our today’.
